The former stadium was aging and was torn down. Castro Valley High School is also building a new gymnasium to fit larger P.E. classes and to hold practices for volleyball and basketball. In addition to the construction, the practice fields used for football, soccer, and cross country practices, as well as P.E. classes, are all being renovated due to the large number of injuries caused by potholes and uneven terrain. Many Castro Valley High School teams have been forced to relocate practice to nearby Canyon Middle School. The football team plays home games at Chabot College. CVHS just finished work on a Center for the Arts. The dramatic arts classes are held in the green room. The auditorium is used by many groups, and reservations are full nearly year-round. Students have reported problems traveling through the school because of heavy contsruction.
